Hayden Kho Jr., Medical License Revoked Permanently

Hayden Kho Jr., Medical License Revoked Permanently

In  June 29, 2012 the Court of Appeals (CA) released its judgment to junk Hayden Kho, Jr., medical license due to immorality, dishonorable and unthecal conduct related to the case filed against him by Kathrina Halili over their controversial sex videos.

Associate Justice Edwin Sorongon, the appeals court's Eighth Division said the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has the authority to suspend a medical practitioner or revoke his medical license.

The Court of Appeals further dismissed Hayden’s contention that the recording and circulation of the video “was concededly not done in relation to the practice of his medical profession”.

The court said a medical practice “is not a natural right but a privilege bestowed by the State on those who show that they possess, and continue to possess, the qualifications required by the conferment of such privilege.”

In addition, the court underscored that the “standard of morality” expected of medical professionals, in particular, is especially high because the State recognizes that physicians should, ideally, be responsible in “protecting the health, safety and well-being of the public.”
